Introduction and Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the patients' demographic data by retrospectively looking at the mental health and diseases consultations requested within a one-year period. Materials and Methods: Clinical data of the patients aged 18 years and older who were hospitalized in Tokat State Hospital or who were admitted to emergency medicine outpatient clinic and who were in need of mental health and diseases were screened retrospectively. Results: A total of 323 patients were consulted for mental health and diseases. Of these patients, 91(28.17%) were patients who were admitted to the emergency medicine outpatient clinic with suicide attempt or were treated in the intensive care unit. 232 (71.82%) patients were inpatients in any service. Clinics requiring the most frequent consultations are; Internal medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation services and orthopedics services. Of the patients evaluated, 131 (56.46%) were female and 101 (43.53%) were male. The mean age of the patients was 51.93 ± 7.89. The diagnoses taken in the order of frequency are; depressive disorder, organic mental disorder, psychotic disorder and anxiety disorder. 59 (64.83%) of the patients evaluated with suicide attempt were female and 32 (35.16%) were male. The mean ageof thepatientswas 27.76 ± 5.89. Depressive disorder and adjustment disorder were the most frequent diagnoses. Conclusion: The consultations required for in patients in non-psychiatric clinics provide an opportunity for treatment. In the light of the data obtained, it is emphasized the importance of evaluating the inpatients in psychiatric outpatient clinics in terms of psychiatric disease.
