Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin öğretim yöntemleri hakkındaki metaforik algılarının belirlenmesidir. Bu çalışma öğretim yöntemlerine yönelik algıları ortaya çıkarması yönüyle nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgubilim kapsamında yapılmıştır. Veri toplamak amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen çalışmanın amacına uygun açık uçlu sorular ve kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmaya toplam olarak 116 (%26,6 kadın ve %73,4 erkek) beden eğitimi öğretmeni katılım sağlamış olup bu öğretmenlerin yaş ortalamaları x̄ 38,55’dir. Katılımcıların ortalama görev yapma sürelerinin x̄ 13,6 yıl olduğu bunun yanında toplam katılımcılardan %15,5’inin lisans mezuniyetlerin beden eğitimi öğretmenliği olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğretmenler tarafından üretilen öğretim yöntemlerine yönelik 64 adet farklı metafor imgesi elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen metaforlar 6 adet kavramsal kategori altında toplanmış olup frekans açısından incelendiğinde anahtar, rehber, oyun ve pusula imgelerinin en çok tercih edilen kavramlar olduğu görülmektedir.

The purpose of this research is to determine the metaphoric perceptions of the teachers of body education about the teaching methods. This study was conducted in the context of the quality research patterns in order to reveal perceptions towards teaching methods. Open-end questions and personal information forms that correspond to the purpose of the study developed by the researchers for the purpose of data collection were used and obtained by the method of content analysis. A total of 116 (26.6 percent women and 73.4 percent men) body education teachers participated in the study, and the average age of these teachers is 38,55. The average employment period of participants is x̄ 13.6 years, and 15.5% of the total participants have been determined that graduates do not have physical education teaching. According to the results of the study, 64 different metaphor images for teaching methods produced by teachers were obtained. Obtained metaphors are gathered under 6 conceptual categories and when studied in terms of frequency, the key, guide, game and puzzle images are the most preferred concepts.

Due to its aspect of revealing perceptions about teaching methods, we carried out this study within the scope of phenomenology, which is one of the qualitative research patterns. We developed open ended questions and a personal information form to collect data in accordance with the goal of the study and evaluated the obtained data using content analysis method. A total of 116 (26,6% women and 73,4% men) physical education teachers participated in the study with the average age of x̄ 38,55. The average tenure of the participants is x̄ 13,6, in addition to this 15,5% of the participants do not hold a bachelor’s degree on physical education teaching. The findings of the study demonstrate 64 different metaphor images for teaching methods produced by teachers. These metaphors fall under 6 conceptual categories and when evaluated in terms of frequency; key, guide, game and compass images are the most common concepts of choice.
