Özet:

Aim: This study aimed to determine the genital hygienic practices of the Health Science Faculty First Class Female Student’s. It is a descriptive study. Material and Methods: 123 first class female student’s from the Health Science Faculty during 2013-2014 academic years were include in this descriptive study. The data were collected by a questionnaire form which was created to identify socio-demographic features and genital hygiene behavior. The data were evaluated with percentages, for statistical analysis Chi-square Test was used. Results: It was determined that 35% of the students were from the nursing department, 67.5% of their mothers were graduated from elementary school or had no education and the average age was 19.3. Although the majority of the students received training for genital hygiene previously, all were unable to implement total and accurate genital - menstrual hygiene practices. Conclusion: It was concluded that students  have incomplete and inaccurate practices about genital hygiene, there are differences between departments and they need to be informed.
