Abstract:

This study examined the relationships between the attitudes of vocational college students towards vocational education and their future expectations. According to the Relational Scanning Method, this research has been used as a data collection tool for attitude towards professional education and future expectations scales. The research was conducted on 293 students who studied at the Afyon University of Kocatepe. The study found a positive and meaningful relationship between future expectations and attitude towards vocational education, and the regression analysis and future expectations revealed about one-third percent of the variation of attitude points towards vocational education. According to these findings, the attitudes towards professional education in increasing student academic achievements in professional colleges can be used as a functional variable. As the students’ attitudes towards professional education develop in a positive direction, their academic achievements will also be able to increase. On the other hand, the positive future expectations of students can also improve their attitude towards professional education in a positive direction. Having a positive perception of students studying at professional colleges about their future can attract their attention and interest to the education they receive.
