The purpose is to examine the sportsmanship orientations of university students doing sports as amateurs and evaluate them in terms of some variables. The research group consisted of 349 amateur athletes as 133 females and 216 males studying at Selçuk University, Faculty of Sport Sciences. Multidimensional Sportspersonship Orientation Scale (MSOS), which was developed by Vallerand et al. (1997) and adapted into Turkish by Sezen-Balçıkanlı (2010), was used as the data collection tool. Independent-Samples t test, One-way Anova and Tukey HSD tests were used for data analysis. It was determined that there were differences depending on the variables of students' gender and year of work with coach, while no statistically significant difference was observed in their sportsmanship orientations depending on age, sport type and athletic history variables. Females' average values of respect for rules and management were found to be higher compared to males. It was observed that the average values of compliance with social norms of athletes with a working time of 7 years and above were statistically higher than that of those working for 4-6 years, thus contributing more to the sportsmanship orientation values of amateur athletes. The result of that amateur women athletes have higher average values of respect for rules and management than men, and average values of compliance with social norms of athletes with 7 years or more are statistically higher than athletes working for 4-6 years. It can be said that amateur athletes contribute more positively to sportsmanship orientation values.
