The philogenetic relationship of nine species of the Orkide (Orchis) species that naturally spread in the province of Van has been tried to be determined using the trnL intron and trnL-F IGS areas found in the chloroplast DNA. To show the evolutionary relations with other species of the same gender, the DNA sequences of different species were included in the analysis by taking from the NCBI database. For each species, the best DNA sequence has been taken by double reading and filogenetic trees have been drawn by the Maximum Likelihood (ML) method. Although the variation in the trnL-F area is much less, the tree topologies obtained are quite similar. In each tree, the altgins (Orchis, Anacamptis and Neotinea) were found in different clades, and the species could be distinguished at the low-section level. The study ended with the conclusion that the taxonomic position of the species found in the Anacamptis and Neotinea subcins should be changed to the gender level.
