Havacılık sektörü bir bütün olarak değerlendirildiğinde bu sektörün, kapsamına giren birçok iş kolu bulunmasından dolayı geniş bir istihdam alanı yarattığı ve milli gelir üzerinde olumlu etki meydana getirdiği yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Bu sektördeki firmaların performanslarının değerlendirilebilmesi ise hem firma yöneticileri hem de sektöre yatırım yapan/yapacak yatırımcılar için önem arz etmektedir. Çalışmanın temel amacı BIST’e (Borsa İstanbul) kote olan THY A.O. ve Pegasus Hava Taşımacılığı A.Ş. için 2008 yılı mali tablolarından elde edilen veriler ile finansal performanslarını kıyaslamalı olarak ortaya koymaktır. Yatırımcılar açısından karar süreçlerinde tek bir kriter açısından finansal performansın değerlendirilmesi yetersiz kalmaktadır. Bu durum Çok Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) yöntemlerine olan ihtiyacı gündeme getirmiştir. Bu amaçla çalışmada finansal performans analizlerinde sıklıkla kullanılan ÇKKV yöntemlerinden biri olan Gri İlişkisel Analiz (GİA) yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın temel bulgularına göre Pegasus Hava Taşımacılığı’nın THY A.O’ya göre daha yüksek bir finansal performans sergilediği ortaya konmuştur. Çalışmanın bir diğer bulgusu, THY’nin kârlılık oranlarında performans olarak Pegasus havayolu işletmesinden daha iyi durumda olduğudur.
When the aviation sector is considered as a whole, it is a remarkable fact that this sector has created a wide range of employment and has a positive impact on national income because of the many business branches that are within its scope. The performance of the companies in this sector can be assessed, but it is important for both the corporate managers and investors who invest in the sector. The main objective of the study is the BIST (Borsa Istanbul) quota THY A.O. and Pegasus Air Transport A.S. The results of the 2008 financial statements are comparable to the financial performance. In terms of investors, the assessment of financial performance in the decision-making process is insufficient. This has brought the need for a multi-critical decision-making method. For this purpose, the study used the Grey Relationship Analysis (GIA) method, one of the CCCV methods that are commonly used in financial performance analysis. According to the basic findings of the study, Pegasus Air Transport showed a higher financial performance than THY A.O. Another conclusion of the study is that THY is better than Pegasus airline as a profit rate performance.
There are many business lines that fall under the scope of the aviation industry. Therefore, if the aviation sector is considered as a whole, it is an undeniable fact that it creates a wide employment opportunity and has a positive effect on national income. The ability to evaluate the performance of companies in this sector is important for both company managers and investors who invest and invest in the sector. The main purpose of the study is to compare the financial performances of THY Corporation and Pegasus Pegasus Airlines Inc., which are listed on the BIST, with the data obtained from 2008 financial statements. For investors, evaluation of financial performance is insufficient in terms of a single criterion in decision processes. This situation has raised the need for Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. For this purpose, the Gray Relational Analysis (GIA) method, which is one of the MCDM methods used frequently in financial performance analysis, was used in the study. According to the main findings of the study; Pegasus Pegasus Airlines Inc. exhibits a higher financial performance than THY Corporation. Another finding of the study is that THY has a better performance than Pegasus airline in terms of profitability
