Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of burnout in the effect of positive psychological capital on organizational cynicism. Within the scope of the study, positive psychological capital to organizational cynicism and burnout; The effect of burnout on organizational cynicism is also examined. In the study, firstly, hypotheses were formed by examining the studies investigating the relationship between variables. The population of the study consists of 825 health personnel working in two state hospitals that provide second level health services affiliated to the Karaman Provincial Health Directorate, and the sample consists of 300 health personnel randomly selected. The 4 hypotheses created within the scope of the study were tested with the data collected by the questionnaire technique. Confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis were performed to determine the structural validity of the data obtained. As a result of the analyzes made through SPSS, Amos and SPSS Process Macro programs, it was found that positive psychological capital affects organizational cynicism and burnout negatively, and burnout positively affects organizational cynicism. In addition, it was determined by the analysis that the indirect effect of burnout on organizational cynicism was significant and thus, burnout mediated the relationship between positive psychological capital and organizational cynicism.
