Abstract This article was originally published in 1997, on the volume Semiótica e Pragmática da Comunicação of the Cadernos de Comunicação do Mestrado em Semiótica, which was organized by Elizabeth B. Duarte and edited by Editora UNISINOS (São Leopoldo, RS). It appears, here, for the first time in a digital edition. Transcribed by Cássio B. Lucas. In it, Alexandre, then a candidate for a master’s degree, discusses some conceptions of intertextuality in conjunction with the Nietzschean problem of the overcoming of man as a form, as well as the cartographies that configure communication's sense. An analysis is made of a song by Caetano Veloso in which several intertextual lines are opened for the critical and creative revision of the Bossa Nova movement.
