Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to identify the differences between the levels of sports commitment and the relationship between the age and sports commitment according to the variables of individual and team sportsmen. The study’s work group was created by providing the participation of a total of 104 athletes, including 78 ‘Men’ and 26 ‘Women’, who fought in various branches of an athletic school in Istanbul, including individual and team sports. As a data collection tool in the study; Schaufeli, the Spanish version of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) developed by Bakker (2004) was developed by Guillen and Martinez-Alvarado (2014) by adapting to athletes, and the "Sports Engagement Scale (SBÖ)" used by Sırgancı, Ilgar and Cihan (2019) adapted to Turkish. The SCO 5 type of liquor consists of 15 substances and 3 sub-dimensions (sweating, dedicating, internalizing). The data was analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 package program. As a statistical method in the assessment of data; frequency, arithmetic average, standard deviation were used. After understanding that the data showed normal distribution, the analyses were analyzed with the t test and the ANOVA test. The relationship between the age of participants and sports commitments was studied by the Pearson Correlation Test. To identify the differences between the groups, the TUKEY test was applied. The study found that the sports commitments of the athletes varied according to the variables and branches they do, and that the sports commitments of the athletes decreased as their age increased.
