Abstract:

Infectious diseases come at the forefront of important issues that affect the individual and society physically, economically, socially and psychically throughout the historic process. As in the COVID-19 process, increased transport and mobility with globalization facilitates the spread of the epidemic that begins in any country and the formation of pandemic to many countries, the control of infectious diseases becomes difficult and sometimes there is no vaccine or specific treatment. Therefore, the monitoring and filing that the World Health Organization (WHO) emphasizes as part of its strategy in the fight against infectious diseases is on the forefront. In an effective infectious disease control program, surveillance studies are the most important stage among the main elements of early diagnosis and case detection. Surveys work includes actions such as reporting, reporting, field examination/filiation, case examination, epidemic examination. Filation enables the identification of the source of the disease and the contact monitoring and control of infectious diseases. In all countries, nurses in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of infectious diseases are the leading group of professions. COVID-19 has been mentioned about the nursing profession that serves with many roles on national and international platforms during the pandemic process. The purpose of this collection is to explain the importance of monitoring and filation in infectious diseases and to emphasize the role of the nurse in this process.
