This research has been carried out in order to determine the elements, affecting burnout level of nurses as well as their skills to solve problems, and to examine the relationship between burnout and problem solving skills. 327 nurses, taking place within the borders of the province of Manisa, formed the research group. In this research, Maslach Burnout Scale, Problem Solving Inventory and Personal Information Sheet were used. Oneway Anaova, Tukey HSD test, Kruskal Wallis H test and Pearson Moments Correlation Coefficient techniques were utilized for data analysis. It was ascertained that depersonalization and personal accomplishment levels changed in line with professional experience of nurses; besides personal accomplishment levels and problem solving skills depended on being on guard duty as well as frequency of the said duty. It was found out that emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment levels and problem solving skills of nurses changed in relation to physical conditions of working places, attitudes of patients and patient relatives, their satisfaction with the relationship with their colleagues, doctors, and directors. Finally it appeared that there was a relationship between burnout levels of nurses and problem solving skills.
