HEMŞİRELİK ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN HASTA GÜVENLİĞİ KONUSUNDA BİLGİ VE YETERLİLİKLERİ

Abstract:

Hasta güvenliği, hemşirelik eğitiminin vazgeçilmez parçalarından birisidir. Öğrencilerin hasta güvenliği konusunda bilgi ve yeterlilik düzeyleri, hastaların karşılaşacağı olası riskleri en aza indirgemede önemlidir. Bu araştırma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin hasta güvenliği konusuna ilişkin bilgi ve yeterliliklerinin belirlenmesi amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma, bir devlet üniversitesinin hemşirelik fakültesinde tanımlayıcı desende gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada toplam 279 öğrenci yer almıştır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında Birey Tanıtım Formu ve Sağlık Profesyonellerinin Eğitiminde Hasta Güvenliği Ölçeği (SPEHGÖ) kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin SPEHGÖ puan ortalaması klinik ortam ana boyutunda 4.0 ± 0.9, sınıf ortamı ana boyutunda 4.0 ± 0.8 olarak saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin eğitim aldıkları akademik düzeylerinin SPEHGÖ ana boyutlarını pozitif yönlü istatistiksel anlamlı düzeyde etkilediği saptanmıştır (Sınıf ortamı: B=.2, β=0.175, p=0.003; Klinik ortam: B=0.2, β=0.195, p=0.001). Öğrencilerin eğitim aldıkları akademik düzeyin artmasının bu bilgi ve yeterlilik üzerine olumlu etkisi olduğu saptanmıştır.

Patient safety is one of the essential parts of nursing education. Students' level of knowledge and competence about patient safety is important in minimizing the possible risks that patients will encounter. This research has been conducted to determine the knowledge and competencies of nursing students about patient safety. The research has been carried out in a descriptive design in a nursing faculty of a public university. A total of 279 students participated in the study. Individual identification form and the Health Professional Education in Patient Safety Survey (H-PEPSS) have been used for data collection. The average scores of students' H-PEPSS have been determined as 4.0 ± 0.9 in clinic main domain and 4.0 ± 0.8 in class main domain. It has been determined that the academic level of students that they had been educated had a positive and statistically significant effect on the main dimensions of H-PEPSS (In class: B=0.2, β=0.175, p=0.003; In Clinic: B=0.2, β=0.195, p=0.001). It has been determined that the increase in the academic level of the students has a positive effect on this knowledge and competence.
