Abstract:

The school has gone through certain processes since its establishment until now. The laicity and conservative opinions have been the subject of discussion in the axis, and especially in the constant agenda of every coming power. The number of them has been reduced, and the number of them has increased in certain periods. The history of these schools, which has a hundred years of history, dates back to the last periods of the Ottoman Empire. The classes and teaching programmes applied in other high schools are the same. Courses such as Social Information, Turkish, English, Religious Culture and Ethical Knowledge, Mathematics Technology and Design, Information Technology and Software, Science, Visual Arts, Music and Body Education are shared. This study aims to investigate what the musical preferences of the students who are studying in the Imam Hatip High School and High Schools and their families are. This study is important for families and children who are considered to be experiencing religious perceptions intensely and who send their children to the Imam Hatip schools to get education in this direction, to determine their views of music, the types of music they listen to, thus to determine the musical preferences of these individuals and in subsequent studies to keep the light of the studies to be carried out in order to give a new curriculum proposal for these schools. It is believed that the work will contribute to the area, original and support new work on the subject.
