20. yüzyıldan bu yana birçok farklı alana konu olan sosyal sermaye önemi giderek artan bir kavramdır. Sosyal sermaye toplumda güvene dayalı kalkınmanın oluşmasına kaynaklık eden değerlerin birikimi olarak, yenilik kavramı ise yeni ve faydalı iş ürünlerinin, prosedürlerin ve süreçlerin bilinçli olarak uygulanması olarak belirtilebilir. Yenilik, yenilikçi bir ortamın olduğu yerde gerçekleşebilir. Bu ortamın gelişmesinde ise sosyal sermayenin önemli bir rolü vardır. Yenilikçi davranış, problemlerin tanınmasını, fikirleri destekleyecek alt yapıların oluşturulmasını ve fikirlerin uygulanmasını kapsayan çok aşamalı bir süreci ifade eder. Yenilikçi davranışın işletmelerde rekabeti artıran stratejik bir etken olarak düşünülmesi ise sosyal sermayenin çalışanların yenilikçi davranışlarındaki rolünün inceleme konusu olmasına yol açmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı, Denizli ilinde faaliyet gösteren tekstil firmalarında görev yapan beyaz yakalı çalışanların yenilikçi davranışlarında sosyal sermayenin rol oynayıp oynamadığının incelenmesidir. Çalışmada yapılan korelasyon ve regresyon analizlerinde sosyal sermaye ve yenilikçi davranış arasında pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki ortaya çıkmıştır.
Social capital, which has been the subject of many different fields since the 20th century, is an increasingly important concept. Social capital can be defined as the accumulation of values that lead to the formation of development based on trust in the society, and the concept of innovation can be defined as “the conscious implementation of new and useful work products, procedures, and processes”. Innovation can happen where there is an innovative environment. Social capital has an important role in the development of this environment. Innovative behavior refers to a multi-step process that includes the recognition of problems, the creation of infrastructures to support ideas, and the implementation of ideas. Considering innovative behavior as a strategic factor that increases competition in businesses has led to the role of social capital in the innovative behavior of employees being the subject of investigation. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine whether social capital plays a role in the innovative behavior of white-collar employees working in textile companies operating in Denizli. In the correlation and regression analyzes conducted in the study, a positive and significant relationship founded between social capital and innovative behavior.
