This study investigates the relationship between students‟ cultural background and Western Instrument classes in Erciyes University College of Fine Arts, School of Music. A standardized open-ended interview has applied to western music intrument instructers. Collected data coded with concepts and categories. According to the data collected from interviews, it‟s seen that there is a significant relation between students‟ cultural background and Western Instrument education. It‟s concluded that; customizing instrumental curriculum, encouraging students to perform more often, including cultural musics in curriculum, increasing musical event attendance, increasing students‟ practice time could help students‟ western classical music instrumental classes in Erciyes University College of Fine Arts, School of Music.
