In American football, fans of different teams can agree on general matters related to rules, judgment and performance assessment, as such matters can be dismissed from the support of any individual team. However, we see that the rules and performance standards in the academy cannot be separated from the support for specific beliefs. In the Academy, ideological sensitivities and commitments are linked to the notions of all academic effort (enterprise). Therefore, the support for a particular "team" cannot be separated from the way one's position should be subject to the judge's assessment (umpired) or assessment.
