Hızlı nüfus artışı ve kentleşme nedeniyle insanların doğaya olan özlemi de artmış ve yaşadıkları mekânlarda, daha fazla süs bitkilerine, çiçeklere ve saksıda yetişen bitkilere önem vermeye başlamışlardır. Şanlıurfa, endemik türleri ve mevsimsel özellikleri nedeniyle süs bitkisi yetiştiriciliği açısından yüksek potansiyele sahiptir. Karaali bölgesindeki jeotermal alanlarda süs bitkisi üretimi yapılmakta olup, yurtiçi ve yurt dışına satışa sunulmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Şanlıurfa’da ki süs bitkisi üreticilerinin mevcut yapılarının incelenmesi, sorunların ve beklentilerin tespit edilerek öneriler sunulmasıdır. Bu amaçla Şanlıurfa’da yer alan 16 süs bitkisi üreticisi ile 2020 yılında, tam sayım kapsamında anket yoluyla yüz yüze görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre işletme sahibiyle birlikte ortalama çalışan kişi sayısı 3.94 kişi, ortalama arazi büyüklüğü 35.72 dekar ve ortalama yıllık net gelir ise 48.4 Bin TL/yıl olarak hesaplanmıştır. Üreticiler, üretim miktarlarını piyasa fiyatlarına bağlı olarak oluşan karlılığa göre belirlemektedirler. Üretimde karşılaşılan en önemli sorun %84 ile ilaçlı mücadele, bakım, yetiştirme ve aşının tutmaması iken, üretim çeşitleri ve yönteminin seçilmesinde en etkili faktör ise %80 ile üreticinin tecrübesi olmaktadır. Üreticilere göre bu sektörün en önemli problemi %80 ile üretim zorluğudur. Üreticiler ürünlerini en çok %87.5 ile fidanlıkta ve %56.25 toptan pazarlarken, %18.75’i ürünlerini etiketlemekte ve kendi markaları ile satmaktadırlar. Katılımcıların tamamı üretici olmaktan memnundur. Üreticilerin örgütlü bir yapıya ve etkin bir tarımsal yayım faaliyetlerine ihtiyaçları vardır. Bunların olması süs bitkileri sektörünün Şanlıurfa’da daha da yaygınlaşmasına sebep olacaktır. Bu durum hem il, hem bölge ve hem de ulusal ekonomiye üretim, gelir, kırsal kalkınma, istihdam ve dış ticaret açısından olumlu katkı sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışma Şanlıurfa’da bu kapsamda yapılan ilk araştırmadır.
As a result of the rapid population growth and urbanization, the desire for nature has also increased, and in the places where they live, they have begun to pay more attention to decorative plants, flowers and plants that grow in the shell. Sanlıurfa has a high potential in terms of cultivation due to its endemic species and seasonal characteristics. Geothermal areas in Karaali are producing decorative plants and are offered for sale domestic and abroad. The purpose of this study is to study the existing structures of the decorative plant producers in Sanlıurfa, to identify the problems and expectations and to present recommendations. For this purpose, in 2020, with 16 decorative plant producers located in Sanlıurfa, face-to-face conversations were conducted through the survey in the full number. According to the results obtained, the average number of people working with the business owner is 3.94 people, the average land size is 35.72 and the average annual net income is 48.4 thousand TL/year. Producers determine their production amounts according to the profitability that is formed by market prices. The most important problem in production is the lack of drug fighting, care, cultivation and vaccination with 84% while the most effective factor in the selection of production varieties and methods is the manufacturer’s experience with 80%. According to the manufacturers, the most important problem in this sector is the production difficulty with 80%. Manufacturers market their products with a maximum of 87.5 per cent and 56.25 per cent, while 18.75 per cent label their products and sell them with their own brands. All participants are pleased to be producers. Producers need a organized structure and effective agricultural publishing activities. This will make the plant industry more widespread in Sanlıurfa. This will be a positive contribution to both the province, the region and the national economy in terms of production, income, rural development, employment and foreign trade. This study is the first research done in this scope in Sanlyurfa.
