Abstract:

Many factory, machinery, equipment, industrial facilities and mining stores, which are now missing their function in different parts of the world, are re-estimated as a means of regional revitalization and economic development within the framework of industrial heritage tourism. Zonguldak, with its historical history, cultural values, industrial wealth and alternative tourism opportunities, has an important potential in terms of industrial heritage tourism. The purpose of this research is to identify the potential of the Zonguldak province’s industrial heritage tourism and to identify the strong and weak aspects, opportunities and threats of the province through SWOT analysis. Research shows that Zonguldak has a rich potential in terms of industrial heritage tourism. It is one of Turkey's first mining cities, the strongest aspect of having many mining stores and historic industrial structure, the weakest aspect of the province's industrial heritage tourism consciousness has not formed completely. While the increase in tour programmes in the West Black Sea is highlighted as an important opportunity, the risk of disruption and disappearance due to the failure to fully protect industrial heritage items constitutes a significant threat. This study is part 21.
