Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmen Adaylarının Osmanlı ve Fetih Kavramlarına İlişkin Bilişsel Yapılarının Kelime İlişkilendirme Testi Yoluyla Analizi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı, kelime ilişkilendirme testi yoluyla sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının Osmanlı ve Fetih kavramlarına ilişkin bilişsel yapılarını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemine uygun olarak hazırlanmış ve tarama modeline uygun olarak tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören 124 sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan Kelime İlişkilendirme Testi kullanılmıştır. Testi oluşturmak amacıyla Osmanlı ve Fetih anahtar kavramları seçilmiştir. Uygulama işleminde, öğretmen adaylarına verilen anahtar kavramların zihinlerinde çağrıştırdığı kelimeleri-sözcükleri boş bırakılan yerlere yazmaları istenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Her katılımcının anahtar kavramlara ilişkin verdiği yanıtlar teker teker değerlendirilmiş ve kelimelerin tekrar edilme sayılarına göre bir frekans tablosu oluşturulmuştur. Anahtar kavramlarla ilişkilendirilen kelimelerin tekrar edilme sayıları dikkate alınarak yedi adet kesme noktası aralığı belirlenmiştir. Her aralığa ilişkin veriler şekillerle gösterilmiş ve açıklanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analiz edilmesi sonucunda sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayları Osmanlı anahtar kavramını toplam 157 farklı kelime ile ilişkilendirirken, Fetih anahtar kavramını da 133 farklı kelime ile ilişkilendirmişlerdir. Öğretmen adaylarının Osmanlı kavramı ile en çok ilişkilendirdikleri kelimelerin hoşgörü, padişah ve imparatorluk kelimeleri olduğu, Fetih kavramı ile en çok ilişkilendirdikleri kelimelerin ise İstanbul, Fatih Sultan Mehmet ve savaş kelimeleri olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmada ulaşılan bulgular göstermektedir ki sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının Osmanlı ve Fetih kavramlarına ilişkin bilişsel yapıları genel anlamda bilimsel bir niteliğe sahiptir. Bununla birlikte özellikle Fetih anahtar kavramı ile ilgili bazı kavram yanılgıları söz konusudur.

Social Information Teacher Candidate's Optical and Fetih Concepts Conceptual Structures Through Word Relation Test Analysis

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to reveal the cognitive structures of the candidates for social information teachers in relation to the concepts of Ottoman and Fetih through the word linking test. The work quality is prepared according to the research method and designed according to the scanning model. The study group consists of 124 social information teachers candidates who study at a state university. The study used the Word Relationship Test prepared by researchers as a data collection tool. For the purpose of creating the test, the Ottoman and Fetih keywords were chosen. In the application process, teachers are asked to write the words-songs that the key concepts given to the candidates in their minds in places left empty. Imaginary analysis of data is used. The responses given by each participant to the key concepts were evaluated one by one and a frequency table was created according to the number of words repeated. The number of repetitions of the words associated with key concepts has been determined by the seven-cutting-point range. The data for each range are displayed and explained in forms. As a result of the analysis of the research data, social information teachers candidates associated the Ottoman keyword with a total of 157 different words, while the Fetih keyword also associated with 133 different words. The teaching candidates have concluded that the words they most associate with the Ottoman concept are tolerance, padişah and imperialism, and the words they most associate with the concept of Fatih are Istanbul, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and war words. The findings obtained in the study show that social information teachers' candidates' cognitive structures relating to the Ottoman and Fetih concepts have a scientific character in general. However, there are some conceptual errors specifically related to the Key Concept of Fetih.

The aim of this study is to reveal the cognitive structures of prospective social studies teachers related to the concepts of Ottoman and Conquest through the word association test. The study was prepared in accordance with the qualitative research method and was designed according to the case study pattern. The study group consisted of 128 prospective social studies teachers studying at a state university’s faculty of education. The Word Association Test prepared by the researchers was used in the study as a data collection tool. Ottoman and Conquest key concepts were chosen to create the test. The word association test prepared for the purpose was distributed to prospective teachers. Prospective teachers were asked to write the words that come to their minds about the key concepts given to the relevant spaces in the test. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. The responses of each participant regarding the key concepts were evaluated one by one and a frequency table was created according to the number of times the words were repeated. Considering the repetition numbers of the words associated with the key concepts, seven breakpoint ranges were determined. Data for each range are shown and explained in figures. As a result of analyzing the research data, it was found out that while prospective social studies teachers associate the Ottoman key concept with a total of 157 different words, they associate the key concept of Conquest with 133 different words. It is concluded that the words most closely associated with the Ottoman concept are the words of tolerance, the sultan and empire, and the words most associated with the concept of Conquest are Istanbul, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and war.
