İmâmiyye Şîa’sında İmâmların masum kabul edilmesi onların söz ve fiillerinin şerʻi bir değer kazanmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu bağlamda teşekkül eden Şiî hadîs ve fıkıh kitapları özellikle İmâmların uygulamalarına ve beyanlarına dayanmaktadır. Sonraki dönemlere intikal eden ve İmâmların beyanlarını barındıran kaynaklarda müteârız rivâyetlerin görülmesi bunların arasında teâruzu giderme uygulamasını gündeme getirmiştir. İmâmların kendi dönemlerinde bir takım sebeplerden dolayı takiyye yaptıkları ve bu durumun rivâyetlere yansıdığı iddiası takiyyeyi müteârız rivâyetlerde ihtilafı giderme yöntemlerinden biri yapmıştır. Rivâyetleri takiyyeye hamletme uygulaması mütekaddim Şiî ulemâ arasında nadir bir uygulama olmuştur. Hicrî 5. asırda Tûsî’nin (ö. 460/1067) sıklıkla başvurduğu bu uygulama takiyyeye hamlettiği rivâyetlerin kendinden önceki durumunu gündeme getirmektedir. Buna göre makale erken dönem Şîa’da rivâyetlerin takiyyeye hamledilme uygulamasının genel seyrini ele alarak Tûsî’nin bu uygulamaya sığınmasının muhtemel sebeplerini ve mütekaddim Şiî ulemanın Tûsî tarafından takiyyeye hamledilen bazı rivâyetlere yaklaşımını ortaya koymaya çalışacaktır.
