Abstract:

Works with old letters are important texts that form the basis of contemporary Turkish literature. These works not only reflect the language characteristics of the period in which they were written, but also contain structures that have depth in terms of meaning. The lack of writing facilities has led to the need to tell a lot with few words. This stuation has increased the semantic depth of ancient works. Dream interpretations are common works with many copies in manuscript libraries throughout Turkey. Many of these copies ara works created by translation from the interpretation that belongs to İbni Sîrîn. These works have been copyrighted with the contributions of their authors. İnterpretations are generally divided into sections in the form of chapters and different subjects related to dreams are mentioned in each section. The main metaphor is the dream. By using the language skillfully, works were created around the dream metaphor. The semiotic view, on the other hand, aims to reach the main meaning by revealing the layers of meaning of the works. By using text semiotics, the reader’s reading experience is focused. In our study, the copy of the work named “Rüya Tâbirnâmesi”, which is registered in the Kayseri Raşit Efendi Manuscript Library with the fixture number 1374, is based on. While examining the text, the concept of “exemplary reader” was used as the basis of the deram metaphor and the semantic structure was tried to be revealed.
