Kateter İlişkili Üriner Sistem Enfeksiyonları Kontrol Önlemlerine Yönelik Hemşirelerin Bilgi ve Tutumlarının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract:

Amaç: Bu çalışma, hemşirelerin kateter ilişkili üriner sistem enfeksiyonları kontrol önlemlerine yönelik bilgi ve tutumlarını değerlendirmek amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı olarak planlanan bu araştırma, Kasım-Aralık 2018 tarihleri arasında Türkiye’nin doğu bölgesinde bulunan bir hastanede çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 185 hemşire ile yapıldı. Veriler Tanıtıcı Özellikler Bilgi Formu ve Kateter İlişkili Üriner Sistem Enfeksiyonları Kontrol Önlemleri Ölçeği ile toplandı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan hemşirelerin yaş ortalaması 29.15 ± 6.75’dir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre Kateter İlişkili Üriner Sistem Enfeksiyonları Kontrol Önlemleri Ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasının 64.05 ± 7.25 olduğu bulundu. Ayrıca, Kateter İlişkili Üriner Sistem Enfeksiyonları Kontrol Önlemleri Ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasının, enfeksiyon kontrol önlemleri ile ilgili eğitim almış olan hemşirelerde istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu belirlendi (p<0,05). Sonuç: Araştırmaya göre; hemşirelerin Kateter İlişkili Üriner Sistem Enfeksiyonları Kontrol Önlemleri Ölçeği toplam puanı yüksek bulundu. Ayrıca, meslekte çalışma yılı ve yaş arttıkça bilgi düzeylerinde artma olmadığı belirlendi.

The assessment of information and attitudes of nurses towards measures to control catheter-related urinary system infections

Abstract:

Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes of nurses related to catheter-associated urinary tract infections control precautions. Material and methods: This descriptive study was conducted with 185 nurses who agreed to participate in the study between November-December 2018 at a hospital in the eastern region of Turkey. Data were collected by using the Descriptive Characteristics Questionnaire and Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections Control Precautions Scale. Results: The average age of the nurse was 29.15 ± 6.75 years. According to the findings of the study, the average total score of the Catheter-Related Urinary System Infections Control Measures Scale was 64.05 ± 7.25. In addition, the average total score of the scale was found to be significantly higher in the nurses who received training on infection control measures (p <0.05). Conclusion: According to the research, the nurses' total score of the Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections Control Precautions Scale was found to be high. Additionally, it was determined that the level of knowledge did not increase as the years of employment and age increased.
