The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceptions of healthy habits and physical fitness of adolescents. The sample was composed of 29 girls and 31 boys from high school (Age = 16.02 ± 0.82 years old; Body mass = 61.07 ± 14.43 kg; Stature = 1.65 ± 0.07 m; BMI = 22.13 ± 3.96 kg/m2). Were evaluated: a) Perception of healthy habits using the Questionnaire Perception of Healthy Habits (QPHAS); b) Aerobic fitness (VO2máx.) with shuttle run test; and c) Anaerobic fitness (Maxima Anaerobic Power (MAP) and Fatigue Index (FI)) with Running based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST). Adolescents showed regular physical fitness and the boys presented better results compared to girls in physical performance tests (p<0.001). There was no difference in the QPHAS final score between genders (p>0.05) and there was no relationship between the perceptions of healthy habits with the physical fitness of adolescents (p>0.05). We concluded that adolescents of high school have a low level of physical fitness and there is no relationship between perceptions of healthy habits with the behavior for physical activity.
