The objective of this study was to demonstrate the anthropometric profile of men aged 25 to 60 years, workers in arural town in the interior of Bahia. We sought to assess the prevalence of obesity among rural workers in two groups: cane cutters (CCA) and rubber (SER). The sample consisted of men aged 20 to 60 years (n = 45). To conduct the survey data were collected regarding the current weight (BP), height (H), body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), blood pressure(SBP) and heart rate (HR). The collection data was carried out in companies, using as instruments for collection: digital anthropometric scale, stadiometer, tape inelastic fiber glass tensiômentro digital form and ballpoint pen to record the data. We evaluated the prevalence of obesity and overweight in this population. Results showed a higher prevalence of normal weightamong rural workers, but 40% to 6.66% of overweight and obesity among CCA, 13.33% of overweight to be; values of waist circumference in both groups 83,34% and 79.93% withvery increased risk for cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance for CCA and BE, respectively. The values found for SBP and HR were within normal limits. The prevalence of such knowledge requires further research studies into eating habits and lifestyles of this type of population.
