Abstract:

Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi is one of the original philosophers in search of truth when he lived in Islamic geography. The philosopher has a method other than the classical understanding which has tried to explain philosophical problems in a literary style. The originality of Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi stems from his criticism and questioning in every field and his literary style used to express his mental process. He met with many important scholars of his time and had the opportunity to listen and record the philosophical debates between them. Therefore, Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi has been present in the chat councils of many thinkers and has mirrored that time since he recorded his conversations. In this study, bu Hayyan al-Tawhidi's ideas about his own inner world and the ideas of other thinkers will be evaluated. The philosopher’s book, al-Muqabasat, which is a rational, mystical and critical book that deals with many subjects, which is also the registry of the conversation assemblies of the period that has reached to the present day, will be taken as a criterion. In the philosophy of Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi, man is an entity that knows his nature and consists of reason.
