Küresel kapitalizmin bir türlü doyum noktasına ulaşamayan itkisi sonucu ortaya çıkan iletişim ve bilişim teknolojilerindeki gelişmeler yirminci yüzyılın ikinci yarısından sonra insanların hem maddi hem de manevi değerler açısından yaşam tarzlarını, dünya algılarını ve tüketim alışkanlıklarını da değiştirir. Rönesans ve Aydınlanma düşüncesi çerçevesinde serpilip 2. Dünya Savaşı sonlarına kadar biriktirilen siyasal, sosyal, felsefi ve bilimsel anlatıların birer birer yapıbozuma uğramasıyla ortaya yeni bakış açıları ve yeni algılarla kuşanmış yeni durumlar çıkmaya başlar. Elbette bu değişim ve dönüşümün sanata ve onun bir türü olan edebiyata yansıması da kaçınılmaz hale gelir. Edebi türler içerisinde ise bu değişimden en çok etkilenen, insanın sosyolojik ve psikolojik evrimini dillendirmesiyle varlık bulan roman olur. Akıl, mantık ve bilim temelinde şekillenen bir bilinçle neden-sonuç ilişkisi üzerinden hareket eden olayların kurgulaştırıldığı modern romanın yerini; biçim, teknik ve ilkelerin radikal bir şekilde değişmeye başladığı; üst kurmaca, metinlerarasılık, çoğulcu yaklaşım, öznellik, parodi, popüler kültür, pastiş, kolaj vb. tekniklerin kullanıldığı postmodern roman alır. Postmodern roman; bahsi geçen teknik ve yaklaşımları da kullanarak sanal ile gerçeğin, mutlak ile izafinin, üst ile astın arasındaki mesafeyi kısaltır, her şeyi görelilik ilkesi üzerinden değerlendirildiği bir anlatı düzeni oluşturur. Bu doğrultudan hareketle bu makalede, 1990 sonrası romanda postmodern anlayışı benimseyen önemli yazarlardan Elif Şafak’ın ilk eseri olan ve feminizm, tasavvuf, aşk, eşcinsellik, modernleşme, Doğu-Batı çatışması, Türkiye’nin güncel toplumsal atmosferinin alegorisi gibi birçok göndermeleri içeren Pinhan adlı romanında belirgin ve örtük postmodern kurgu unsurları üzerinde durulacaktır.

The place of the modern novel where the events that move through the cause-resultation relationship with a consciousness formed on the basis of reason, logic and science; where the forms, techniques and principles began to change radically; the top philosophy, intertextity, multi-approximation, subjectivity, parody, popular culture, purification, collage, etc. The postmodern novel is used by the techniques. The postmodern novel, using the above-mentioned techniques and approaches, shortened the distance between the virtual and the truth, the absolute and the explicit, the upper and the axis, and creates a narrative arrangement where everything is assessed on the basis of the principle of relativity. With this direct movement in this article, the novel after 1990 will focus on the first work of Elif Şafak from the important writers who adopted postmodern understanding and the novel Pinhan, which includes many posts such as feminism, tasavvuf, love, homosexuality, modernization, Eastern-West conflict, the allegory of the current social atmosphere of Turkey.
