Abstract:

 Community Centers (The People's Houses), which were officially established in 14 places on February 19, 1932 as a means of conveying the Turkish Revolution to the public, and their number reached 478 over time, come to the fore as the Early Republican Era institutions with 9 branches.These institutions were established in order to reinforce the idea of the nation-state, which is the foundation of the Republic, to show that the Turkish Nation has an important cultural accumulation and to ensure that it reaches the public. These institutions also aimed to educate (raise) citizens in line with the principles of the Republic. In this direction, various conferences were held to educate the public, events and demonstrations were organized. This study aimed to determine a general situation of Bursa Community Center, one of the first established Community Centers, and to determine its socio-cultural activities..In the study, the data obtained from the Republic Archive in the electronic environment were completed by using the document analysis (data analysis) method. The article examined community centers in general, which make a great contribution to cultural and social life of the period, and contribution of Uludağ community center in particular to socio-cultural life of Bursa city. In addition, the study was conducted on the axis of presenting elements of folk literature which the institution gives a place in its publications in general.
