This study focuses on the subject of fractal analysis, which has an increasing interest and importance for spatial analyses and is integrated into the Geographic Information Systems (CBS) in this context, determined by the integration of the CBS and fractal analysis, the spatial and temporary changes in the land use/cover of the Samsun province. For the years 1990 and 2012, using the CORINE 2 level land use/cover classes, the spatial distribution and design of the Samsun province land use/cover classes were determined, the changes that occurred in the 1990-2012 period. In the framework of the fractal analysis; the method of box counting is calculated by the fractal size, the sliding box algorithm, the lakunarity index. In the period 1990-2012 Corine 2. In 2 of the 15 classes at the level, both the fractal size and the lacunarity index increased, while in 1 classes, the fractal size and the lacunarity index decreased at the same time. In the 4th class, the fractal size increased, the lacunarity decreased, and in the 8th class, the fractal size increased, the lacunarity index increased. The results showed that the analysis of the spatial and spatial distribution, as well as the degree of fragmentation/compacting and heterogenity/homogenity, and the analysis of the spatial pattern characteristics provide important information for the monitoring and evaluation of the environmental consequences of anthropogenic effects.
