21. yüzyılın başlarında Amerika’da Enron, WorldCom gibi şirketlerde yaşanan muhasebe ve denetim skandallarının nedeni olan muhasebe hileleri tüm finansal tablo bilgi kullanıcılarını olumsuz yönde etkilemiştir. Bu etkilerinden dolayı muhasebe hilelerine olan ilgi daha da artmış ve hile konusunda çok sayıda çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Serbest Muhasebeci Mali Müşavir, mesleki stajyer ile sertifikasız muhasebe çalışanı ve yöneticilerinden oluşan farklı pozisyondaki muhasebe meslek mensuplarının muhasebe hileleri konusundaki algılarının hile türleri, hilelerin tutar büyüklüğü, yapılma amaçları ve hilelerin etki dönemi bakımından farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla oluşturulmuş anket formu, Türkiye’nin Bolu, Sakarya ve Kocaeli illerindeki 440 muhasebe meslek mensubuna uygulanmıştır. Verinin analizi sonucunda muhasebe meslek mensuplarının hile algılarının gerçekleştirilen hilenin türüne, hilenin tutar büyüklüğüne, hilenin etki ettiği döneme ve hilenin yapılış amacına göre istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaştığını ortaya koymaktadır.
In the early 21st century, accounting tricks, which were the cause of accounting and audit scandals in companies like Enron, WorldCom, in the United States, have affected the users of all financial tables in a negative way. Due to these effects, the interest in accounting tricks has increased and a lot of research has been done on the tricks. The purpose of this study is to reveal that the perceptions of accounting professionals in different positions, consisting of Free Accountant Financial Client, professional internship and uncertified accounting staff and managers, on accounting tricks are different in terms of the types of tricks, the amount of tricks, the purposes of making and the impact period of tricks. The survey form created for this purpose has been applied to 440 accounting professionals in the provinces of Bolu, Sakarya and Kocaeli in Turkey. As a result of the analysis of the data, accounting professions show that the perceptions of fraud are statistically significantly differentiated according to the type of fraud, the amount of fraud, the period influenced by the fraud and the purpose of the fraud.
