Abstract:

Religious travel is one of the oldest and most common reasons for travel. Turbines, temples, churches, religious places and ceremonies have always been an attraction element, and today there are many destinations known for their religious tourism attractions and attracting a lot of visitors. One of the countries that have religious wealth for three major religions (Islam, Christianity, Muslims) is Turkey. Turkey is a very important destination with its attractions in 44 provinces and its capacity to accommodate at least 250 thousand people per year in the context of religious tourism. In this sense, the scientific study of tourism in Turkey is of importance. This study aims to reveal an instant image of the postgraduate thesis studies prepared within the framework of faith tourism in Turkey and to create awareness about faith tourism that can be formed with spiritual relaxation and cultural purposes to meet the need of worship. For this purpose, the Graduate Theses published in the field of "Trust Tourism" in the National Thesis Center of the Institute of Higher Education are analyzed according to various parameters using the "bibliometric analysis" and "content analysis" techniques. The vast majority of the theses aimed at tourism of faith is a master's thesis, prepared within the Institute of Social Sciences, the Department of Tourism Business Anabolism. The theses are formed in the axis of the objectives of alternative tourism development, promotion, image, marketing, quality of service, performance development, protection and awareness creation.
