Due to the principle of the work of the diesel engines, the compression rates and air surplus rates are high. This makes the thermal efficiency and private fuel consumption low. The compression rate is high as a result of burning, the gas temperature in the cylinder reaches quite high levels. The most important factors that lead to the formation of nitrogen oxide emissions in internal combustion engines are the maximum temperature and air surplus ratio achieved within the cylinder. The fact that both of these factors are high in diesel engines increases the amount of nitrogen oxide formation. One of the most effective methods used in diesel engines to lower the maximum gas temperature in the cylinder and to reduce NO emissions is to send water to the motor cylinder. In this study, the effects of emulation fuel use at different mass rates in a direct injection diesel engine on NO formation rate were studied. In this study, the effects of emulsive fuel use at different mass rates in a direct injection diesel engine have been experimentally studied on the NO formation rate The study found that emulsive fuel use reduces the NO formation rate and the NO emissions increase the water in the fuel by increasing the amount of water in the fuel.
Due to the operating principle of diesel engines, compression ratios and excess air coefficient are high. By this means, their thermal efficiency and specific fuel consumption are low. As a result of the high compression ratio, gas temperature which in the cylinder reaches to very high levels. The most important factors that cause the formation of nitrogen oxide emissions in internal combustion engines are the maximum temperature and excess air coefficient within the cylinder. Both of these factors in diesel engines increase the amount of nitrogen oxide formation. In diesel engines, one of the most effective methods for reducing the maximum gas temperature inside the cylinder and reducing NO emissions is to send water to the engine cylinder. In this study, the effects of different fuel absorption rates on the rate of NO formation were investigated in a direct injection diesel engine. At the same time, the effects of using emulsion fuel on NO emissions were examined as a result of experimental studies. As a result of the study, it was determined that the use of emulsion fuel decreases speed of NO formation and the decreases NO emissions as the ratio of water in the fuel increases.
