Çeşme, geçmişte yaşayan insanların su ihtiyacını karşılayan en önemli mimari öğe olduğundan Türk-İslam kentlerinin değerli mimari eserleri arasında yer almaktadır. Bu sebeple suyu aziz bilen Osmanlı, medeniyetinin hem mütevazı, hem de gösterişli yansımaları olan çeşmelerle meydanlarını süslemiştir. Çeşmeler, dönemlerinin mimari üsluplarını taşıyan, sanatsal eserler olduğu gibi şehir merkezlerinde mahalle ve sokakların oluşmasında da belirleyici rol oynamışlardır. Su, insanlığın en büyük ihtiyacı olduğundan asırlardır çeşitli yollarla bu ihtiyacın sağlanması amaçlanmış ve bu amaç ışığında pek çok yapı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu yapılar özellikle İslamiyet’in suya büyük önem vermiş olması ve insanlara su sağlamanın hayırlı olduğunu bildirmesi bu önemi daha da artırmıştır. Tarihte bir bölgenin ismi olan Harput’ta da çok sayıda çeşme inşa edilerek çeşme yolu güzergâhlarını oluşturmuşlardır. Bu çeşmelerden birçoğu günümüze ulaşmıştır. Bu çeşmelerden biri Cami Kebir Mahallesinde Ulu Cami bahçesi bitişiğinde yer alan yarım yuvarlak kemerli Harput Ulu Cami (Bey-Pınar) Çeşmesi olup makalemizin de ana temasını teşkil etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Elazığ İl Merkezi Harput Mahallesi, Şefik Gül Kültür Evi (Gülsen Evi) bahçesinde yer alan Harput Ulu Cami (Bey-Pınar) Çeşmesi, sanat tarihi yönünden incelenmiştir. Çalışmaya kaynak taraması ile başlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda Harput’un tarihi ve coğrafyası, çeşme mimarisinin gelişimi, Harput Ulu Cami (Bey Pınarı) Çeşmesi’nin detaylı olarak yeri, tarihçesi, planı, malzemesi, teknik ve süslemeleri, restorasyon süreci, restorasyon sürecinde tenkit edilen hususlar, öneriler ve sonuç ile sınırlandırılmıştır.
Since the fountain is the most important architectural element that meets the water needs of people living in the past, it is among the valuable architectural works of the Turkish-Islamic cities. For this reason, the Ottoman, who knows the holy water, has decorated the fields with the flows with both humble and spectacular reflections of civilization. The fountains have played a decisive role in the formation of neighborhoods and streets in the city centers, as well as artistic works that carry the architectural styles of their periods. Water has been intended to satisfy this need in various ways for centuries since it is the greatest need of mankind and many structures have emerged in the light of this purpose. These structures have increased this importance especially because Islam has given great importance to water and informs people that water supply is better. In the history of the name of a region in Harput, many fonts have been built and the font routes have been created. Many of these flowers have come to our day. One of these sources is the Half-Round Belt Harput Ulu Cami (Bey-Pınar) Fountain, which is located near Ulu Cami Garden in Cami Kebir Mahallesi and is the main topic of our article. In this study, the Harput district of Elazığ, the Harput Ulu Cami (Bey-Pınar) Fountain, located in the garden of the Shefik Rose Culture House (Gülsen House), has been studied in the art history direction. The work began with the source scan. In this context, the history and geography of Harput, the development of the fountain architecture, the location, history, plan, materials, techniques and decorations, the restoration process, the aspects, suggestions and results of the Harput Ulu Cami (Bey Puntains) Fountain are limited in detail.
