Abstract:

This study discussed the establishment, magnificence and changes of the official music institutions that were established from the proclamation of the Republic, and even extended to the pre-Tanzimat era. These institutions, when classified, were taken into account the chronological order and specifically the categorization of institutions within themselves. From here, many institutions, including military music institutions, high school, university institutions, state opera and balls, conservatories, many music organizations belonging to the Ministry of Culture and music institutions associated with the Turkish Radio Television Institution, have been studied in terms of the arrival, the elements they contain and the role and importance of Turkish music in education-education and cultural life. As a result of this study, it has been shown that these institutions, which have been two centuries old, have undergone many changes in understanding and management styles, the country’s political, administrative culture atmosphere, is a great influence on the kinds of music performed, taught and intended to be adopted in these institutions. From this point of view, this work, which is contacted with many of the official music institutions from the Tanzimat era to today's Turkey, is believed to keep the light by drawing a framework in the general sense to the history and perspective of the music institutions between these periods.
