Abstract:

Open green spaces take important tasks on the formation of a viable environment and in the satisfaction of the recreational needs of individuals. The systematic planning of open-green spaces that benefit from their physical, social, economic, aesthetic and ecological functions requires the importance of having the size and qualities to meet the urban population. The city of Karabük open and green areas have been tried to be assessed in the framework of the quality and quantitative characteristics in the neighborhood scale. Data on neighborhood needs, population, character, intensity of use and accessibility have been obtained. For a representative park selected from these neighborhoods, a development form consisting of 40 different questions has been prepared. In total, 27 parks have been implemented. According to the data obtained, it has been seen that a design understanding with the same fabric and characteristics in the city is dominant. Individuals and children should be designed as places to meet their recreational activities, to provide visual and aesthetic benefits. In this way, the city’s newly constructed parks are planned to be introduced to a more contemporary and homogeneous state.
