The identity, representation or substance titles produced in the cultural mecra are often imagined objectively and universally in a form of pre-acceptance. On the other hand, the main objection to the claim that it is an indirect relationship between the representative and the representative is that the byzatism itself reflects an ideological perspective, Stuart Hall expresses. In this context, Hall rejects the Western-centric colonial paradigm, which totalizes the concepts of representation, essence and identity with a fixing and exclusive approach, normalizes/normalizes its own forms of vision and conception regimes, colonizes them on the basis of other practices of vision and representation through this cultural attitude which it establishes, and thus disapproves the alternatives that are located outside the norms it produces but which it assumes is universal and objective. The rejection of the idea that cultural identities and representations are a direct and indirect contact with the reality, also eliminates the totem-object in the position of the demonstrators of those identities from the agenda. In this study, the work and claims of Stuart Hall will be centered, and the other important names of the critical paradigm, such as Althusser, Gramsci, Lacan, which theoretically enabled Hall to build his own arguments, will be analyzed, including the identity, representation and essence titles. For this purpose, the relevant work of the names in question will be examined comparatively through text analysis.

Identity, representation or subject produced in cultural areas are usually accepted as objective and universal entities in the form of a presupposition. On the other hand, Stuart Hall raises his own objection that the claim that there is a direct relationship between the object represented and the representation itself reflects an ideological perspective. In this context, Hall mainly rejects the Western-centered colonialist paradigm that discredits the alternative ways of seeing existing outside the norms assumed to be objective and universal by the Western-centered paradigm itself, which normalizes merely its own ways of seeing the world by colonizing the other perspectives. In this way, the denial of the idea that cultural identities and representations have a direct contact with the real also cancels the totem-object, which is the signifier of those identities. In this study, the notions of identity, representation and subject will be analyzed by taking the studies and claims of Stuart Hall into the center and including other important names such as Althusser, Gramsci, Lacan, which theoretically enable Hall to build his own arguments. For this purpose, the relevant works of these names will be examined comparatively through text analysis.
