ABSTRACT Aim: Present study aimed to investigate the relationship between physical education teachers' perceptions of organizational cynicism, their attitudes towards the profession and their wage satisfaction.  Material and Method: A total of 357 (127 female, 230 male) physical education teachers aged between 21-60 participated in the study voluntarily. The answers were collected through 4 questionnaires, including the personal information form. In order to determine the attitudes of the participants towards the profession, Ünlü’s (2011) “The Attitude towards Physical Education Teaching Profession” scale, which consists of 2 sub-dimensions (love***, anxiety) and a total of 23 questions, was used. The Cronbach's Alpha value of the scale was found to be 0.852. “The Organizational Cynicism Scale” consisting of 3 sub-dimensions (Cognitive cynicism, Behavioral cynicism, Affective cynicism) and a total of 13 questions, developed by Brandes, Dhalwadkar and Dean (1999) and adapted into Turkish by Kalağan (2009), was used to determine organizational cynicism attitudes. The Cronbach's Alpha value of the scale was found to be 0.866. In order to determine the wage satisfaction of the participants, a scale adapted into Turkish by Ergüney (2006), consisting of 4 sub-dimensions (wage level satisfaction, wage increase satisfaction, wage structure/management satisfaction and social benefits satisfaction) and 13 statements, was used. The Cronbach's Alpha value of the scale was found to be 0.912. Findings: Reliability Cronbach Alpha values of the total items of the attitude towards the physical education teacher profession, organizational cynicism, and wage satisfaction scales were determined to be at a good level. When the demographic characteristics of the participants and the answers given to the items were evaluated, there was no statistically significant difference in gender in general, but statistically significant differences were found in age, professional seniority and school seniority aspects. Conclussions: Findings suggest that there is a positive relationship between the scores of attitude towards physical education teaching profession and cognitive cynicism, affective cynicism, wage level satisfaction, wage increase satisfaction, wage structure/management, social benefits satisfaction. As physical education teachers' attitude scores towards the profession increase, cognitive cynicism, affective cynicism, wage level satisfaction, wage increase satisfaction, wage structure/management, social benefits satisfaction scores also increase. A negative relationship was found between the participants' attitude scores towards the physical education teaching profession and their behavioral cynicism scores. While the scores of attitude towards the physical education teaching profession increase, behavioral cynicism scores decrease.
