"Despite the implementation of many rules and regulations, inclusive education is facing many challenges not only in India but in the world. This article reviews the current status of inclusive education and highlights the school leader's attitude to the development of inclusive education. The objective of this paper is to assess the level of knowledge about the RTE Act 2009 and RPWD Act 2016 among government and private school leaders and to identify their impact on their perception and acceptance of persons with disabilities in the workplace. More than two decades have passed since the implementation of inclusive education in India but inclusive education has not achieved its expected level. A study from the ground level was necessary to understand the real situation. The researcher used a questionnaire in this study, which was developed as a medium for data collection. The sample for this research was Principal/Vice-principal of Government and Private Secondary Schools under the Directorate of Education, Delhi. A total of 30 school leaders five from Private Schools and 25 from Government Schools participated in the study. The research results demonstrated the key role of the school leaders in the development of inclusive education when it comes to the implementation of effective inclusive education at the school level. This result sheds light on the factors that promote inclusive schooling in India and the role that school leaders play in creating impactful inclusive schools. This study recommends spreading awareness about inclusive education of school leaders in a systematic manner for professional development."
