Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin “Alyuvar”, “Akyuvar” ve “Kan Pulcukları” Kavramları Hakkındaki Algılarının Metafor Yoluyla İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin “alyuvar”, “akyuvar” ve “kan pulcukları” kavramlarına ilişkin sahip oldukları algıları, metaforlar yardımıyla belirlemektir. Çalışma grubunu, 2016-2017 akademik yılının bahar döneminde öğrenimine devam eden toplam 101, 6., 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak öğrencilere “Alyuvar... gibidir. Çünkü ...”, “Akyuvar... gibidir. Çünkü ...” ve “Kan pulcukları .... gibidir. Çünkü …” yazılı birer A4 kâğıt dağıtılmıştır ve öğrencilerden bu cümleleri tamamlamaları istenmiştir. Araştırma, nitel esaslıdır. Verilerin analizinde ise; içerik analizi tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin “alyuvar” kavramı için 74 metafor, “akyuvar” kavramı için 63 metafor ve “kan pulcukları” kavramı için de 60 metafor ürettikleri görülmüştür. Bu metaforlar “alyuvar” için 5, “akyuvar” ve “kan pulcukları” için ise 4’er farklı kategori altında toplanmıştır. Ortaokul öğrencilerinin “alyuvar”, “akyuvar” ve “kan pulcukları”na ilişkin en çok “Görev” kategorisinde metaforlar geliştirdikleri belirlenirken, bunu “Şekil”, “Renk” ve “Yapı ve özellik” kategorileri izlemiştir.

Examination Of Secondary School Students' Perceptions About The Concepts Like "erythrocyte", "leukocyte" and "platelet" Through Metaphors

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the perceptions of secondary school students regarding the concepts of “erythrocyte”, “leukocyte” and “platelet” with metaphor. The group of the research consists of total 101 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who are selected in the spring semester of 2016-2017 academic years. As a data collection tool, students are given an A4 paper writing “Erythrocyte is like ... because ....”, “Leukocyte is like.... because...” and “Platelet is like.... because” on it and the students were completed the sentences. The study was a qualitative research. The data were analyzed by using content analysis. As a result of the study, it was seen that the students produced 74 metaphors about the concept of “erythrocyte”, 63 metaphors about the concept of “leukocyte” and 60 metaphors about the concept of “platelet”. These metaphors were further identified in 5 different categories for “erythrocyte” and in 4 different categories for “leukocyte” and “platelet”. Secondary school students used more metaphors in the category of “Function” than the other categories which were ordered as “Shape”, “Colour”, and “Structure and feature” according to their frequency..
