Abstract:

Abstract:

In today’s societies, called the postmodern age, the disappearance of time and space has become even more evident with the first pandemic of the 21st century. In this period when people were closed into their homes in masses due to the Covid-19 epidemic, many sectors of work from home to home work have passed into a form of home office work for the capitalist system to be able to continue its existence without problems. With this process, the difference between home time and out-of-home time or working hours has almost disappeared. In this process, when a new norm has been experienced, many people have lived first and the process of working from home has also been one of them. This process is the first time experienced by the sections in the domestic arrangements, while the experiences of women living in the domestic work process in patriarchal communities such as Turkey are also the main subject of this study. In this framework, 14 women who entered the home work system along with the pandemic process were discussed between 15 March 2020 and 1 June 2020. The participants obtained by the patch sample method were communicated using online conversation techniques due to the pandemic. The data obtained was analyzed using the visual analysis technique. In this sense, it can also be claimed that the study will be in an original approach in terms of showing the transition to the home office work system during the Covid-19 epidemic from the eyes of women workers.

Abstract:

The obscurity of the notions of time and space in today’s societies which are called the postmodern age, has become more evident with the first pandemic of the 21st century. Many business sectors have passed into working from home, home-office forms in order for the capitalist system to continue without any problems in this period of people confining to their homes in masses due to the Covid-19 epidemic. By this process the difference between home time and away time or working hours has almost disappeared. In this period of experiencing the new normal which people encounter many things for the first time, the process of working from home has been one of them. As fundamental changes in domestic settings are experienced for the first time by some segments of the society, the experiences of women from patriarchal societies like Turkey constitute the subject matter of this study. In this frame, 14 women who have shifted working from home with the process of the pandemic were interviewed between 15 March 2020 - 1 June 2020. Participants who has been reached with the snowball sampling method were communicated by online interview techniques due to the pandemic. The obtained data are analyzed using descriptive analysis technique.
