When it comes to the periods of Turkish literature, it seems that as a topic, Jerusalem is discussed with various occasions in the Classical and Modern Turkish literature. In classical Turkish literature, it is not possible to point out that the concept of Jerusalem has become a mazmûn and its use has become a traditional form, but it is possible to find a certain number of literary products in which this subject is processed in various types and forms. In modern Turkish literature, the issue began to be discussed after the 1960s on the basis of the Palestinian case. One of the few poets in classical Turkish literature who worked on the theme of Jerusalem as a special topic is the 17th-century poet Allâme Şeyhî Efendi. In the Divan of Allah’s Sheikh, the theme “Jesus” is two gazels and one cassette. Although it is a little processed topic, the reason that Jerusalem is discussed with three separate manuscripts in Allah’s Sheikh can be explained by the poet’s office of female in this city for about a year. Thus, in the fourth verse of the Qur’an, the Qur’an was revealed in the fourth verse of the Qur’an, and the Qur’an was revealed in the fourth verse of the Qur’an. When we look at the periods of Turkish literature, it is seen that as a theme Jerusalem is a subject in Classical and Modern Turkish Literature through several occasions. Although it is not possible to say that the use of the concept Jerusalem in classical Turkish literature as a poetic theme has become a traditional form, a number of literary works can be found in various types and shapes of this theme. Consideration of the subject in the modern Turkish literature has launched after the 1960s based on the Palestinian case. One of the few poets who used the theme of Jerusalem in classical Turkish literature as an independent subject was Allâme Şeyhî Efendi, one of the 17th century poets. There are two gazelles and one ode on the theme “Jerusalem” in Allâme Şeyhî’s Divan. Although Jerusalem is a subject that is less discussed, the reason why it became the subject in Allâme Şeyhî with three different poems can be explained by the fact that the poet was on duty as a cadi in this city for about a period of time. The poem by Allâme Şeyhî discussed on this study is the twenty-four-couplet poem titled Kasîde Der Beytü’l-Makdîs Vâkı’-ı Sene. In the şitâiyye (hiemal) type of his ode, Allâme Şeyhî treats his joy of snowfall and the whiteness and beauty of the city with vivid as well as effective depictions. All depictions of the poet on Jerusalem and al-Masjid al-Aqsa and its surroundings, which he referred to as Temple Mount, are all related to the outdoor elements. The difference between the poem by poet, in which he describes the snowfall in Jerusalem and its surroundings, and many other şitâiyye (hiemal) poems of the same type is that he has given a positive perception of winter and hiemal elements.
