Abstract:

Our research was conducted to investigate the differences in sexually transmitted diseases (STD) among students who started studying at a vocational school of health. The sample of the research consists of 454 students aged 17-25, who started to study at Istanbul Aydın University, Vocational School of Health Services in the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year and agreed to participate in the study. To conduct the study, the Personal Information Form and Survey Form were created online (Google Forms), and these forms were sent via e-mail and message between 11.10.2021 and 25.10.2021. Data was collected from the students who participated in the research. Studies have shown that the education level of the mother, age, the high school graduated from, and the place of residence in high school have an impact on the level of knowledge of students about STD. For this reason, it is recommended that students should be educated on the ways of transmission of STD, methods of protection, the most transmitted sexual diseases and infectious agents, the possibility of causing infertility after infection, and other important health problems.
