Objective: This is a descriptive study that aimed to detect of patients’ views about approaches of the doctors and nurses to the patients in pain. Methods: The sample of this descriptive study was consist of 117 voluntary adult patients in pain who hospitilized, between the dates of JulySeptember 2005 in internal and surgical clinics of Manisa State Hospital. The data collected by means of questionnaire developed by the researchers. Approval to conduct the study was obtained from the hospital, the Ege University Nursing High School Ethic Committe. In this study descriptive statistics and chi-square test was used. Results: Mean age of the patients was 45.1±14.8 years. Most of the patients 69.2% were women, 68.4% were married, 54.7% were educated primary school or lower education level. More than half of the patients 59.8% were treated in surgical service. Less than half 45.3% of the patients didn’t know cause of their pain and analgesics are sometimes effective on the 55.6% of the patients. Most of the patients 76.1% in pain were stated that nurses had regarded for them and, 65.8% of them expressed that the doctors had regarded for them.
