The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between humour styles and shyness. The sample consisted of 640 (330 female; 310 male) university students. Humour styles and shyness levels of these students were measured by the use of the Humour Styles Questionnaire, and Shyness Scale respectively. To analyze the data, regression analysis and correlation analysis were employed. A significant effect of humour styles on shyness was detected. All humour styles (affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive, and self-defeating ) were found to be significantly correlated to shyness.
