Investigation of The Attitudes of Primary Education Second Stage “Secondary School” Students Regarding Physical Education and Sports Lesson

Abstract This research was conducted in order to determine the attitudes of the students studying in the secondary school "secondary school" towards the Physical Education and Sports lesson. The universe of the research consists of public and private schools selected according to accessibility in the city center and central villages of Burdur province. The sample group consists of 450 students studying in grades 5.6.7 and 8 in these schools. In the research, the “Physical Education Lesson Attitude Scale” developed by Yağcı (2012) was used. The scale was filled by randomly selected students from each class. Frequency (%) distribution and Independent Samples Test operations were applied to the obtained data as statistical operations. As a result of the data obtained, it was determined that there were significant differences at the p<0.05 significance level in the students' attitudes towards Physical Education and Sports course in the variables of gender, school type and place of residence. It is seen that these differences are due to the fact that the attitude levels of the students residing in the city center are higher than the girls in terms of the gender variable, the students studying in the public school and the private school in terms of the gender variable, and the students residing in the villages in the settlement variable.
