Amaç: Bu araştırma; hemşirelik öğrencilerinin sınav kaygısı düzeylerini ve bunu etkileyen etmenleri belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak planlandı. Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini 2006-2007öğretim yılında bir Hemşirelik Yüksekokulu’nda öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturdu (n=482). Araştırmanın örneklemini, kredisifazla olan uygulamalı ders alan, çalışmaya katılmaya istekli olan öğrenciler oluşturdu (n=385). Araştırmada; öğrencilerin bireysel özelliklerini ve sınav kaygısı düzeylerini etkileyebilecek etmenleri içeren “Bilgi Formu”, Baltaş A. tarafından geliştirilen “Sınav Kaygısı Ölçeği” kullanıldı. Veriler bu derslerin bitirme sınavlarından 10-20dk. önce araştırmacılar tarafından toplandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde sayısal ve yüzdelik dağılımlar, korelasyon katsayıları, varyans analizi ve Post-Hoc önemlilik testleri kullanıldı. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin bireysel özellikleri ve sınav kaygısı puanları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmazken; eğitimle ilgili kaygı veren durumlarla başetmede kendisini oldukça yetersiz ya da yetersiz bulan, sınavdan başarılı olmak isteyen, çalışma ortamının sınav başarısını etkilediğini düşünen öğrencilerin sınav kaygısı puanlarının yüksek olduğu görüldü ve istatistiksel açıdan ileri derecede anlamlı bir fark olduğu saptandı (p≤0.01). Sonuç: Araştırma bulgularımız, bir hemşirelik yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin sınav kaygısı düzeylerini göstermektedir. Öğrencilerin sınav kaygısı puanları değerlendirildiğinde; sınavlara gereğinden çok daha fazla değer verdikleri ve sınav öncesi heyecanlandıkları; bunu etkileyen etmenlerle başetme düzeyleri arttıkça kaygı puanlarının düştüğü saptandı. Bu bulguların hemşirelik yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin sınav kaygılarını kontrol etmede bir rehber olacağı düşünülmektedir.
Purpose: This research was planned to identify the exam anxiety levels of nursing students and the factors that influence it. Method: The universe of research was formed by students studying at a Nursing High School in the 2006-2007 academic year (n=482). The sample of the study was formed by students who were willing to participate in the study (n=385). In the study, the "Information Form", which includes the factors that can affect the individual characteristics of students and the level of examination anxiety, was used by Baltaş A. developed "Examination Anxiety Scale". The results of these courses are 10-20 minutes from the completion exam. It was first collected by researchers. The data assessment used numerical and percentage distribution, correlation ratio, variance analysis and Post-Hoc importance tests. Results: While there is no meaningful relationship between the individual characteristics of the students and the exam concern scores, the exam concern scores of the students who find themselves quite insufficient or insufficient in coping with the education concerned situations, who want to succeed in the exam, who think the work environment affects the exam success, were high and statistically found that there was a significant difference (p≤0.01). Result: Our research findings show the level of exam anxiety of a nursing college student. When students' test anxiety scores are evaluated; they value exams more than necessary and get excited before the exam; It was found that anxiety scores decreased as the level of coping with the factors affecting this increased. It is thought that these findings will be a guide in controlling the exam anxiety of nursing school students.
