Gestational diabetes mellitus is GDM a carbohydrate intolerance that is diagnosed during pregnancy. Women with diabetes mellitus are able to conceive and maintain pregnancies because of different management, although perinatal morbidity and mortality remain significantly higher in diabetic pregnancies than in normal pregnancies.Maternal fetal complications are incresed for women with a longer history of diabetes or poor control of diabetes before pregnancy. There is a greater incidence of the falloving, •Abortus spontaneous abortion •Preeclampsia •Hydramnios •İntranatal fetal death and neonatal deaths hypoglycemia, asphyxia, RDS •Macrosomia •Infection monilial vaginitis Many obstetricians ,because of hight intra uterin death rate in the last three weeks deliver the patient by Caesarean section at 37-38 weeks.The baby is then immature and requires sprecial nursing care if it is to survive
