Abstract:

The objective of this research is to measure the awareness of healthcare staff in health tourism activities, to reveal their activities in these activities and to emphasize the importance of health tourism in terms of the country’s image. The scale of health tourism perception and the measurement of health workers’ perceptions on the effects of health tourism, the perceptions on the problems of health tourism, the perceptions on the corporate capacities of health institutions and the perceptions on the health tourism potential of Tekirdağ. The research universe consists of a total of 3433 health workers in 11 hospitals in Tekirdağ province and districts. Health Tourism perception measurements have been shown to vary according to demographic characteristics. The perceptions of people between 18 and 25 years of age are higher than those aged 36 years and older. When the average differences in perceptions of individuals to health tourism issues are studied according to the study institution; the perceptions of people working in health institutions and institutions in the private sector to health tourism issues are higher than those working in public health institutions and institutions.
