Climate change is one of the serious global problems with a variety of effects, such as sea level rise, heavy winds, rising temperatures, changing rain arrangements and environmental damage. Therefore, climate change has become one of the obstacles facing the tourism sector due to its environmental sensitivity and climate-dependent characteristics. The aim of the study is to reveal the impact of global climate change on the tourism sector with the green economy understanding. In the study, the dynamic panel data prediction methods of Arellano and Bover/Blundell and Bond System Generalized Moments Method (GMM) have studied the relationship of the share of tourism in GDP with various variables. The study covers 21 countries located in different continents and with the most tourist arrivals in 2017. The research findings show that tourism’s share in GDP has a negative and statistically meaningful relationship with the number of tourists, the Human Development Index, the forest areas and the use of renewable energy, and CO2 emissions and temperature levels. The results obtained indicate that the development of the tourism sector in the countries that are included in the analysis will contribute to economic growth and sustainable development as a result of the green economy. The need for development and implementation of environmentally sensitive tourism policies to enhance the economic impact of the tourism sector can be assessed as a research recommendation.
