Bilimsel araştırmalarda geçmişten geleceğe köprü kurmanın, çalışmanın niteliğini ve katkısını artırmanın anahtarı olan atıf geleneği son zamanlarda harareti giderek yükselen tartışmaların odağında. Atıf-bilimsel bilginin ilerleme rotasında öncü kaşiflerin bıraktıkları ayak izleri - malumatın nasıl keşfedildiğinin, nereden geldiğinin, test edildiğinin, yeniden değerlendirmelere tabi tutularak nasıl bilgiye dönüşerek perçinlendiğinin sağlam ve güvenilir göstergesiyken nasıl oldu da böylesine ateşli tartışmaların hedefi oldu? İçerdiği kavramsal, tasarımsal, yöntemsel, ölçümsel hatalardan dolayı prestijli dergilerde (SSCİ), hem de sözde yüksek güvenlikli hakem değerlendirmesinden geçerek yayımlanmış çok sayıda makale yayından/dergiden geri çekilmekteyken, SSCİ dergilerinden seçilen bazı yayınların replikasyon (yineleme) denemelerinde çalışma sonuçlarının yüzde yüz replike edilemediği ortadayken, sosyal bilimlerde üretilmiş bilginin %95’inin geçerliliği sorgulanırken, yayından kaldırılmış makalelerin hem de katlanan hızla hala olumlu alıntılanmaya devam etmesi atıf geleneği ve uygulamalarının geçerliliğiyle ilgili şüphe uyandırmakta. Atıf neyin göstergesi? Çalışmanın kalitesinin ve bilime katkısının mı? Atıf alan çalışmayı yapan bilim insanının araştırma ve yayın eylemiyle ne kadar meşgul olduğunun mu? Yoksa hiçbiri mi? Dayatılan genel başarı ölçütü konumundaki atıf geleneğinin çöküşte olduğundan hareketle bu çalışma akademik alanda varsa başarının yeniden tanımlanması gerektiğine işaret etmektedir.
The reference tradition, which is the key to building bridges from the past to the future in scientific research, increases the quality and contribution of the study, is the center of recent debates that are increasingly rising. How did the footsteps left by the leading discoverers on the path of advancement of reference-scientific knowledge—when it was a solid and reliable indicator of how the material was discovered, where it came from, how it was tested, how it was transformed into information by being subjected to re-evaluation, and was the target of such fierce discussions?As a result of its conceptual, design, methodological, measurement errors, it is withdrawn from the publication/magazine of many articles published in prestigious magazines (SSCI), as well as through the so-called high-security judge assessment, while some publications selected from the SSCI magazines are not able to replicate the results of the study in the replication (replication) trials, while the validity of 95% of the information produced in social sciences is questioned, the publication of the articles removed from the publication and the rapidly submitted articles continues to be quoted to the validity of the reference and the validity of their applications.What is the indicator?The quality of the work and the contribution to science?How busy is the scientist who works in the field of reference with research and publication?Or none of them?Since the reference tradition in the position of the established general success measure is collapsing, this study indicates that success should be re-defined if it is in the academic field.
